Pavement Management Systems

AMS Consulting and its staff has worked with several agencies in the San Francisco Bay Area and throughout California implementing, updating and maintaining pavement management systems utilizing the MTC StreetSaver, MicroPaver and CarteGraph PaveView.

Our pavement management staff has inspected over 5,000 centerline miles of roads using the modified and full versions of ASTM 6433-09 to agencies throughout California. Our inspectors have been qualified by the Metropolitan Transportation Commission to provide pavement management services to local agencies in the San Francisco region. Additionally they hold certificates from the University of Illinois using the MicroPaver (ASTM 6433-09) pavement management system and California Tech Transfer for Traffic Safety and Traffic Control.

Asset Management


Our staff has many years of experience performing asset management services for the public and private sector.  AMS provides both infrastructure and fixed asset management systems to clients by helping them inventory and manage their infrastructure assets cost-effectively.  AMS Consulting started providing GASB-34 services and expanded its services to mobile mapping, inventory/data collection, computerized maintenance management, work management, GIS, and reporting, all of which are critical components of asset management.

Good asset management is an integral part of the preparation of the CIP budget.  The use of best practices insures that an agency’s CIP budget includes the right projects, at the right time and at the lowest cost for an optimal capital investment program.

Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

GIS is a vital component in asset management and is a powerful management and decision making tool that can generate intelligent maps by integrating digital maps and databases.  By using this technology you will have the answers literally at your fingertips instead of dedicating all of your time and effort looking for the correct maps and tabular reports.

Our dedicated staff has done many GIS linkages to various types of third-party databases (StreetSaver, MicroPaver, CarteGraph, etc.). We primarily use ESRI ArcView/ArcMap as a software of choice but are experienced with Geomedia and AutoCAD Civil 3D. We also provide map making services and

At AMS Consulting, our staff of LEED® AP specialists and Professional Engineers for new construction and existing buildings provide consulting services with every aspect of the USGBC LEED® Certification. We provide technical assistance in the areas of site selection, water efficiency, energy efficiency, greenhouse gas emissions, and indoor air quality and materials.

Our services include an assessment of our clients needs, implementing plans to meeting certain requirements; LEED Building Audits; overseeing LEED® documentation; administering the roles and responsibilities in LEED® Certification Online;  and developing maintenance and operations policies with the goal of maximizing operational efficiency  while minimizing environmental impacts.
